Tired of watching old reruns on TV and ready to get out for an afternoon or night at the movies? Well that day has come.
For the first time in more than five months, AMC Destin Commons 14 will open Thursday, but at limited capacity and with safety precautions in place.
“We are thrilled to once again open our doors to American moviegoers who are looking for an opportunity to get out of their houses and apartments and escape into the magic of the movies," said Adam Aron, CEO and President of AMC Theatres in a news release.
"As our guests return on our first day of resumed operations on Aug. 20, we invite them to join us in celebrating a return to the movies, and in celebrating 100 years of AMC making smiles happen with movies at 1920 prices of only 15 cents each," Arron said.
Some of the movie choices on Thursday at 15 cents a ticket include The Goonies, Beauty and the Beast, Black Panther and Ghostbusters.

On Friday, other movies on the schedule scheduled include Unhinged, Words on the Bathroom Wall, Inception 10 Anniversary and The Burnt Orange Heresy.
As for safety precautions, all theaters will be at 30 percent capacity for each showtime, to allow for social distancing. Seating is reserved and moviegoers are encouraged to purchase tickets online if at all possible.
"Every auditorium will be cleaned between each showtime with enhanced hard surface disinfection including doors, handrails, recliner buttons, and tray tables. There will be extra time allocated between showtimes to allow a full, thorough cleaning of each auditorium," according to a news release from AMC.
Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer will also be available for moviegoers throughout the theaters.
As for masks, AMC guest are required to wear mask accept when eating or drinking.
And yes concessions will be available, however the menu selections have been reduced, and must be paid for using a credit, debit or gift card only, to keep contact down.
“Movie theaters have always been a vital part of social life. It is one of the few immersive experiences that enable us to escape reality and witness life through others’ eyes," said Heather Ruiz, senior director of marketing at Destin Commons.
